Bucket List

1.) Before finishing high school, I want to try to make a quilt. Before my grandma passed away, she had made over a hundred quilts, including one for everyone in our whole family. I think this would be a great way to remember her and something that I would really enjoy.
2.) Before I finish college, I want to have traveled to a different country. I've never been on a plane so just visiting another country for a short time would be amazing. Like several other people, I would love to study abroad but at the same time I realize this might not be plausible depending on the major that I choose. One of my cousins spent the past semester in London and loved it. The chance to study abroad would be incredible but I would be fine with just visiting.
3.)Before I finish living, I want to learn German and then visit Germany with my family. I want to learn German because many of my ancestors spoke German. Once I learn the language, I want to go to Germany. This is something that my family has wanted to do but never has had a time when all of our schedules can fit it in. I would like to spent around a month in Germany to get a feel for the culture.

bucket list

1.) What is the number one item on your bucket list before you finish high school?
I want to go on spring break with all of my best friends. People always say that you don’t stay very close with your high school friends. I want to try and make the most of our time before college and go on spring break together.
2.) What is the number one item on your bucket list before you finish college?
I would love to spend a semester to a year studying abroad either in Spain or in London. I went on a trip to Europe over the summer and had one of the best weeks of my life. What was really shocking was that I went without knowing anyone on my tour and I still had an incredible time. This is definitely something I want to do again for a longer period of time.
3.) What is the number one item on your bucket list before you finish living?
I want to open an animal shelter. I love animals and I love volunteering at humane societies, so I would love to open an animal shelter as a side project to my life if I ever have the time or the money to do it.

Whoa! I inspired this? I feel like I’m expected to have a really awesome post that no one can beat... but this will just have to do.

  1. The top thing on my bucket list is to find out why I inspired this... Kidding! Maybe. In all seriousness, I really want to go on a huge trip with my friends before I graduate. I know I’ll still hold friendships with the people I know now but it won’t be the same (learned from middle school) and that may just be a necessary part of life. But c’mon, wouldn’t you want to go skydiving with your best friend and not have to pay for it because your parents were? Yes indeed. One of my friends and I have been planning since 8th grade, hopefully we get to do it but I’ll be fine with it being in the summer of 2013 if it must. Hello Hawaii!
  2. Before I finish college I want to have studied abroad in Europe. I want to either study in Rome, or London, or the countryside of Ireland/Scotland (doesn’t matter which one). I want to be in Europe for school, and that won’t happen at Cambridge or Oxford because I won’t be applying to either (though I thought about it a lot). Maybe I will spot Nessie!
  3. Oh my goodness, this is a hard one. Before I die I want to have beaten a world record; however, I don’t want it to be pointless and it doesn’t have to be in a book or anything like that. I want it to be in regards to my profession. I want to be the first to discover something that leads to a breakthrough in diabetes or cancer or even AIDS. I want to be the one who does the first partial brain transplant. I just want to do something that helps thousands, if not millions, of people. And I don’t care if people don’t remember my name, I just want my name on the medical journal so no one can say it wasn’t me. No Cheaties Bro!
(Excuse my colloquial language, I thought it gave my blog a better tone than that of a serious writer and more on the level of, well, a high school blog)

Bucket List

1. Before I graduate Henry Clay, I would like to stand in the long line for pizza. Yes, I’ve heard the line takes forever and people in my class gather around the door in hopes of getting in line first. But I have never done this and I figured it’s a part of the Henry Clay lunch time experience. I also want to buy one of those chocolate éclair on a stick thing or the pink version which I’m pretty sure is strawberry.

2. Before I finish college, I want to study abroad for a semester (maybe longer) and immerse myself in a different culture- preferably somewhere in Europe. I love going on vacation but I think living/studying in a different country is much different.

3. Before I die, I want to visit the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The list can differ depending on the source but from CNN’s list they include the Grand Canyon, Great Barrier Reef, Harbor of Rio de Janeiro, Mount Everest, Aurora, Paricutin volcano, and Victoria Falls. Of course I would like to visit other natural wonders as well. Also, it would be great if someone could prove the existence of Atlantis and El Dorado because I have always believed in these two places.

Before I have left...

1. Before I leave high school I would REALLY like to tell off that gross couple that always makes out in the hallways. Honestly, everyone thinks that they are gross! It's not totally awful when other couples say bye in the hallways and hold hands and whatnot, that I can handle. But this couple is ALL over each other at EVERY moment of the day! In the morning in the hallway I happen to frequent, during my lunch hour, between classes, at the end of the day...just sitting on each other and all kinds of stuff. I want to tell them how disgusting everyone - and also I - think they are.

2. When I am in college, I would like to go to at least one CRAZY dance party. Where people actually dance and enjoy themselves WHILE DANCING and just maybe it gets to loud and the cops break it up...I mean, gosh who turned up the volume? Not me!

3. Before I kick it, I want to swim with the sharks. Maybe in a cage for the more violent ones, and if they just happen to go into some kind of frenzy while I'm down there well then that is quite alright as well. Yeah...in the middle of a shark attack. It will be terrifying. It sounds wonderful.

Bucket List

1) Before I esca- I mean, graduate from high school, I want to sneak out and get away with it. I know this is fairly similar to Roshnee's post, but I have always wanted to have just one night secret from those who would try to stop me. I don't know what I would do, but I just want to prove that I can.

2) College, in and of itself, is on my bucket list. I can't wait for the dorms, the parties, the freedom... But more specifically, I want to master as many instruments as possible before I get my degree. Saxophone, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, maybe even some brass instruments.

3) Before I die? Hopefully that will be a long time away... My goals for life are pretty cliche, but they are still the things I want: to meet the perfect guy, to fall in love, to get married, to have my dream job, to have kids and raise them, and to spend the majority of my life happy. Pretty broad. One thing I've always wanted to do is to own a bakery, so maybe I'll work towards that. :)

Assignment 17: Buckets, Buckets

Welcome to your first blog prompt for 2012! Yay!

A bucket list is a list of everything you want to accomplish before you kick the bucket. That doesn't mean you can't have such a list for specific aspects of your life as well.

To begin the year, generate your own bucket lists - one for high school, one for college, and one for life. Then, write about the priority on each list.
  1. What is the number one item on your bucket list before you finish high school?
  2. What is the number one item on your bucket list before you finish college?
  3. What is the number one item on your bucket list before you finish living?

(This blog is inspired by Rob Schrader, Bella Gomez, Matthew Gross, Victoria Salsman, and Aaron Meek. Thank you!)
