To get to the point quickly and not waste time, I'll tell you what I'm getting at: Windows are terrifying. They should never have been invented. Same thing for night, that was a really bad invention.

The Scariest Thing (or at least among the scariest) in the World
Have you ever stopped late at night to look at a window? You can't see anything, because it's too dark, so your mind starts filling in the gaps (because our minds are masochistic) with terrifying things? Perhaps a terrifying man (who may or may not actually be the slender man) is what your mind tells you is there. And for a second you stand there, paralyzed with fear, staring back through the window into the darkness which adapts the shape of your fears like the boggart in Harry Potter. You're absolutely certain that there is something there, even though you know there can't be. Would you be brave enough to confirm it to yourself by walking closer to the window to get a better idea of what lies in the shadows? If you are then you're not like me.
