Nukes

The atomic bomb, a devasting weapon, not only changed how wars would be waged, but also altered the political landscape. The image on the right depicts the atomic cloud above Hiroshima and Nagasaki where the atomic bomb was used in an effort to get the Japanese to surrender during World War Two. Despite our victory, the United States had caused horrible devestation by killing Japanese civilians and creating the world's most feared weapon which continues to threaten the U.S. as more and more counteries develop nuclear weapons.
The use of the nuclear bomb shows the lengths the United States was willing to win the war. We willingly killed civilians to win. It's a bitter sweet victory that would usher in an age of fear, a fear of our own creation.
The United States isn't always the hero fighting the terrorist or saving Europe from the Germans. Yes, the Japanese attacked us on our soil. Yes, we were provoked. But does that mean we should stoop to their level by killing citizens?
