Hey, I’m Zach. Due to the fact that little of you know me well, I should probably start out with the basics:

My full name is Zachary Dean Atwell and I am sixteen years of age. My birthday is on April 12th, which is the same day as the anniversary of the start of the Civil War. Although it is a tragic date for our nation, I still love my birthdate because I feel that it puts me, in some weird way, closer to U.S. history, which is one of my favorite subjects. I'm a huge fan of history, however I do like other subjects as well. These include science and English. I enjoy science class because of how it explains how the world works and how everything affects it. English, on the other hand, is an enjoyable class because of the freedom of it. I can express myself however I choose to.

When it comes to what I want to do in the future, I'm not sure at all. When I was younger I would quickly answer "attorney" or "politician" when I was asked the question of what I would like to be when I grew up. Now I'm not so sure. Throughout my high school career I've realized I don't have the outspoken personality or friendly demeanor to be a politician, and I don't really possess the refined rhetoric of a lawyer. Instead, I see myself being either a surgeon or a professor of history.

On the topic of school goals for this year, I would have to say my biggest goal is to quit my habit of procrastination. Junior year is such an important academic year, and I would hate to ruin it just because of procrastination. My other goal is to become more involved. I'm already a proud member of the academic team and go green club, however I would like to expand my extracurricular activities.

In my free time I enjoy listening to music, taking fun quizzes, and exercising. If I were to pick a favorite band it would probably have to be a tie between the Arctic Monkeys and The Fratellis. As for quizzing, I enjoy taking quizzes on http://www.sporcle.com/. It's a great site for when I have nothing to do.
