I use my ipod (or iphone) every single day. I’m even listening to it as I write this. Most of the time, I play mindless games on it when I can’t sleep, or when I’m having a bad day and need something totally unproductive to do. I listen to audiobooks when I go to bed (for two reasons: (1) I like the stories to find their way into my dreams, and (2) the droning voice reminds me of a teacher and helps me fall asleep very quickly. Haha.). I have a playlist called “Shower songs.” Yes, I do listen to my ipod in the shower. I put it on a speaker and set it to play the songs I picked. I picked the majority of the songs on that playlist because they are easy to sing along to (I know I’m not the only one). Five of the songs on this playlist are:
· “Good Riddance” – Green day I like this song because it fits so many situations that I’ve been in in the past. It has a good guitar part and the vocals are within my range. I also know all of the words, which is a plus.
· “Don’t Stop Believin’” – Journey In my opinion, this is one of the all time best songs every written. Everyone knows it, and while some may argue that it is overplayed and overadvertised, I believe that it is played so often because people recognize how amazing it is.
· “What Do You Got?” – Bon Jovi This song is one of my favorites because I love the guitar harmonies and also because the lyrics are some of the truest words I’ve ever heard. It basically sums up how I feel sometimes about people in general.
· “Check Yes, Juliet” – We The Kings While this song is not the best song I’ve ever heard, I enjoy singing along to it with my friend, Janie. She and I automatically slip into the harmonies without even thinking about it. Hanging out with my friends always comes to mind when I hear it.
· “Drops Of Jupiter” – Train I like this song for many reasons. One of the main ones is that Train is one of my very favorite bands. Another reason is that this song is an extended metaphor and that I actually had to think about the lyrics to understand the song.
