From the perspective of the humble sock

Before I begin, let me first say that it is quite impossible for me to truly express in words how much I loathe my life, but I shall attempt to do so for your amusement.

The life of a sock is certainly not one of glamour. We are bought, worn, abused, and washed. This endless cycle continues until we are either lost or a hole forms in our cloth. Then we are cast aside, never to be used again. Now, you may be thinking that being thrown away would be disappointing to a sock. I, however, can say with certainty that we socks cannot wait until we meet our ends. Our life is not worth living.

The worst part about being a sock is the smell of our owners' feet. It's absolutely horrible. I'm sure you humans are aware of just how disgusting your sweaty feet are, but none of you know just how dreadfully awful it is to have your faces walked on while having to endure an ever-increasing stench. I swear, nothing is worse than what we socks have to go through.

After getting through a long day, we are then taken off the wearer's feet and thrown into the laundry hamper. It is there that many of us are lost and are never to be found again. Many humans wonder wear we disappear, and that's understandable because we don't even know where our fellow socks go to. Some of us believe it's an alternate dimension. Others think they were sent to heaven. Regardless of our beliefs, many disappear in the hamper. These are the lucky ones. For those that actually make it to wash day, what awaits them is a most dreadful experience. We are stuffed into a washer and are doused in bleach. This awful cleaner is completely horrid. I have had the painful experience of being washed five times now, and each wash makes me weaker and weaker. I hope that I will soon have a hole so I may be thrown away.

Once we are washed we are stuffed inside of other socks so that we may be put into a drawer. It is here that we sit in darkness until one of us is unlucky enough to be chosen by our owner. Then the cycle continues...
