Good vs. Evil: Opposites Attract

Growing up, everyone is taught right from wrong, through parents, social media, and even through the simple ideas that entertain us as a person. We are never taught to go with a stranger, take anything from a stranger, to lie or to steal, and so on. Some people don’t necessarily grasp on to that as a child.

In almost all television shows these days, there is some evil character that is brought into the spotlight to sabotage the good ones. There is always some conflict between the two characters. Lenore Baker in the show Army Wives comes back in a later season, remarried, after her first husband died in the first season. Lenore, no matter what, is always trying to bring down Claudia Joy’s (who is the main character on the series) reputation of being a perfect army wife by spreading rumors that happened ages ago.

But in real life, the aspect of good and evil truly do exist. The perfect example comes to mind, something that has happened exactly 10 years ago. The evil in the situation was Al-Qaeda, they didn’t have to hijack the planes and kill innocent lives in both New York and in Washington, DC. The good in the situation would be the heroes who rushed to both scenes of disaster, pulling people from the rubble, rushing through the collapsing building of the World Trade Center.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that evil doesn’t have to exist, it takes all kinds of people to make the world go round, and it takes “evil” people to balance out the bad people as well. It’s impossible to eliminate one due to the fact of having diverse people in the world. Good is defined as being morally right, while evil is defined as immortally wicked. And you know what they say, opposites attract, and they always find each other.
