Technology. I love technology. It has basically staved off boredom on more occasions than I can count. The time I remember most is during the ice storm in 2004. I played so much Super Mario on my Gameboy Color that when I finally emerged from my stupor, the power was back on. I've also been able to communicate with friends about things both useless (video games) and useful (projects due the next day which I had completely forgotten about).
Technology has impaired a good deal of vacations I've been on. I've missed trains and planes, had them delayed, and have been left pulling out my hair due to the stress caused by electronics involved in travel. However a paper sign or a good old fashioned human being might have prevented this.
Strangely, I can't imagine what life would have been like 20 years ago. I'd assume I'd be a bit more hard-working but maybe less informed and a bit more close-minded. I don't think I'd have the same variety of opinions I find on the Internet. I'd most likely interact like a normal person, but more often. Like going to the mall more often or playing a friendly game of kick-the-can. Maybe I'm going too far into the past. After all, I would have grown up in the 1990's. I'd probably have enjoyed better shows like Invader Zim at its prime. I'd definitely be less stingy and cynical and be more friendly towards everyone. I would have preferred to live in the 1990's. As I've said before, I would have had better television shows.
I use my iPod Touch pretty much any time out of school, when I'm off the computer, and when I'm alone. I'm not one of those snots who texts constantly at the dinner table.
My perfect playlist for the road, which is usually when I listen to music casually, would have to be the following:
1. O Children- Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds- I first heard this in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. It was just a beautiful song and I could listen to it repeatedly.
2. Sons of Skyrim- I don't know who this is by, but it is the song for the trailer for Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. It might be the most epic song I've ever heard. When I'm bored or sad, this song makes me stop feeling this way.
3. Where is my Mind- The Pixies- This song is awesome, its vocals are great and the ambient sound effects are really interesting and relaxing.
4. Afterlife- Avenged Sevenfold- This song features a nice variety of vocals and instruments and is a good head-banging song.
5. Now You're a Man- DVDA- Another good head-banging song. Its message is timeless and epic.
