The Impact of Cell Phones

There is no doubt that over the past 20 years life has changed drastically. Think of all the inventions and advancements that have been made in communication, one of the key ones being the cell phone. It has majorly changed how we interact with each other. Our high-tech phones have made it easy for us to change plans almost instantaneously, making us less resolute. We are used to calling someone up and making plans for that very evening. If I had grown up 20 years earlier, it would of been hard to make plans quickly. This would greatly effect our relationships because we would probably hangout less with our friends, not to mention how much less time would be spent texting. Texting allows you to casually talk to a friend throughout the day, improving your relationship by making you closer to that friend. You learn more about them which in turn helps you understand them more.
Another major impact of our phones is that you are able to catch up on what is happening almost instantaneously. Having access to the internet on phones lets you check what is going on around the world as well as what is going on in your friend's lives. It is easy to get on facebook or twitter through your phone to look at what other people have recently posted.
Although there would be several benefits of growing up 20 years earlier, the benefits of today outweigh those. The cell phone has provided a sense of safety and security by providing instant communication with others that we have learned to rely on.
