which would insanity be classified under?

I think that good and evil can be classified as two separate categories, but there IS a grey area in the middle. The way I see things, it’s like a pH scale. 0-6 is evil, 7 is neutral, and 8-14 is good. 0 would be extremely evil beyond all humanly repair, whereas 14 would be selfless and as good as any has ever been. When someone falls on a number like 8 or 9, they are good people who just make bad choices from time to time.

I think that they both have to exist. Good, because it benefits and makes life worth living, and bad, because it makes us appreciate the good. I don’t think that one can, or even should, eliminate the other once and for all because that balance is a forever tantalizing (and also constructive) goal for us: to be good. It motivates us to try and overcome the evil and pain of being bad so that we can feel the pleasure and happiness from good. Unfortunately, bad will always be around because some do not realize that to be truly good you must share with others. I think evil-ness came about because someone wanted too much “good” for themselves. I also think that good or bad cannot be defined in ridged terms; there are some universal standards for both, but who is to say a decision like eating unhealthy or not believing in a certain religion is bad? What I have learned, is that the best thing to do in life is to be nice to everyone, stop worrying about whether what they’re doing is good or bad, and make your own decisions about morals and such for yourself. If we all did that, maybe we would be a step closer towards that ultimate goal: a “good” world.
