the misuse of technology

While many people might say that technology has had a negative impact on society and is ruining the youth of the nation, those people often take for granted all of the wonderful things technology does for us on a day to day basis.

For example imagine a world where one couldn't just dial 911 during an emergency. Imagine that your house is burning down or one of your family members is seriously injured and there is nothing you can do to help them. Technology has given people the ability to be in constant communication. This is an incredible luxury that most take for granted and is much to often abused. Some other posts I read mention the friends sitting in the same room and talking to other people via text story. But is that really reason enough to say that technology has had a negative impact on society? Think of all the wonderful uses of technology. There are the huge advantages such as modern medicine and emergency services to the simple luxury of knowing what the weather will be like today. Technology should not be scorned but should be praised. Just because social media services that might have a negative impact on you are available, they do not have to used, or used to the extent they are. You have the right to not watch TV or have a facebook account so if you really think that technology is having a negative impact on society change yourself not the technology.
