Hubble Telescope

This is the Hubble Deep Field taken by the Hubble orbiting telescope. This picture is a coagulation of 342 individual pictures taken by the hubble telescope, and took 10 consecutive days to collect. Almost all of the three thousand individual objects in this image are individual galaxies; that is ridiculous. To me, the amazing part of this photo in-and-of itself is just how small of a percentage of the universe this is. Im pretty sure that one of the only pictures that goes further than this one is the Hubble Ultra Deep Field.
My personal opinion about the Hubble telescope is that is that it has been the most important thing that NASA has ever done, and has made such a massive impact in science. When launched in 1990, we had high hopes in this astronomical mission, but a messed up mirror caused a year or two of waiting. Finally, the hubble telescope delivered us high definition pictures of the far universe. We humans cannot comprehend how far away these pictures take us from earth, like im not saying that just for emotional impact; the human brain literally cannot comprehend the distance at which we would have to travel to visit the galaxies in this photo. But our universe, being forever expanding at infinite amount of times a second, can never be caught up with by technology. Images of these galaxies give us hope of one day making extra celestial contact but are so insanely humbling on how very minuscule we are.
