Going to do this week's assignment early

War is not a good thing, but like most unfortunate parts of life, it is an inevitable fact. If you have two people and one thing that they both want, assuming that there aren't other factors coming into play and that there is no good way to split possession of said object, the obvious answer is a competition of brute force to determine who gets it. This is also true of other situations. Obviously if a compromise can be reached that will satisfy both parties, that is the right answer. But lets face it, compromises rarely, if ever, leave both parties completely satisfied. Due to this, conflict will always exist, as long as people have different values and opinions.
I think war is reasonable at times because like I said earlier, conflict resolution is rarely solved well through diplomacy, which means that one party will have to back down for one reason or another for peace to be reached. If another group of people is being unreasonable and you've already tried solving the problem peacefully, the only other solution is to either give in to unreasonable demands (which is not often preferable) or to fight for your rights.
Truly it is a sad world we live in that violence is so often the only answer, but after all, we are humans.
