My accomplishment prompt on this list is, as you can see, my time spent on the White Sox. given that i have accomplished many more things, whether it be scholarly awards or more important games, but i have never felt quite the way i did at this game. i won the championship baseball game for a 9-12 year old league when i was twelve years old, and this experience is what i put down for my accomplishment. the previous year my team was one of the worst in the whole league, and i was understandably embarassed for such a failure of a season, but the next year we came back and were the american league champions for the regular season. we stormed through the playoffs, including having a miraculous last inning win against one of the better teams in the league, and wound up facing the mighty Pirates in the championship. everyone expected them to win, and in the double elimination format of the tournament we played them in the undefeated round and managed to sneak through. so in the deciding game, i pitched four innings, going toe-to-toe with the best pitcher in the league, and even hit a grand slam solidifying both the win, and what would become a myth of me skipping second base, simply to piss off the other teams coaches.
now this game isnt the biggest accomplishment ive had, and it probably wasn't even the best league at that park, yet the bond with my teammates and elation i felt on that day made it a memory dear to my heart. so the fact that i chose this accomplishment to put on my list, to write about for all to see, take it for what you will, i just know that the accomplishment of a game changing grand slam in the winning of a championship is something few people can say they have, and im one that is proud to say it.
