The sad truth is that war holds our global society together. Why do people folow traffic laws? Because they don't want to get a ticket, or go to jail, or have their license revoked. The constant possibility of being punished holds all societies together and keeps people in line. When America wanted independence, England intended to put them in their place and punish them. It was the only solution after blood had been shead. Punishment is effective, and the threat of punishment is even more effective. If there was no threat of punishment in virtually every aspect of our culture, there would be chaos. Countires would constantly be revolting against their governement; there would be no incentive to follow laws if nothing would happen to you if you didn't. So in conclusion war is a sad but necessary part of our world in order to keep some level of control.
