Harry Potter, Competition, and Skydiving

  1. Everyone played games in their youth that involved pretending to be something or someone you weren’t. Who did you pretend to be, or what was the ‘game’ you played most often when you were little? Who did you play with, and why do you think it was your favorite?
  2. What are you most looking forward to in college? Are you wanting to re-invent yourself, play sports on the colligate level, star in the University’s production, be the featured soloist, etc. If you are not looking forward to it explain what bothers you and why.
  3. Do you have a bucket list? If so, what is on it; are there any special requirements on it, what are they? If not, what is something you would put on it.
Prompt 2
I really don’t like the word “re-invent” but it seems to be a popular term when people talk of the changes people go through when they enter college, it also seems that it used for those people who hate who they are. I don’t hate who I am, why would I be who I am if I did? There are multiple things that I am looking forward to in college but probably the most important thing is going to a new place. I have lived in Lexington since I was born and it’s just gotten boring being here. That’s why my top college choices are in large cities: UChicago, BC (Boston), John Hopkins (Baltimore), Baylor (Houston), and others. With these large cities I know I will find something that will interest me all 4 years of my undergrad. It also seems like there is a ton of school spirit for wherever I chose to go, the people applied so obviously they like the school. I also want to get out of school where people just don’t care, which is sadly about half of Henry Clay. I am looking forward to packed home games for whatever sports, packed theaters for the arts, and serious competition for the best grades or the best internship.
